Curiosando sopra i tetti di Milano

Giardini pensili e piccoli terrazzi

Sui tetti, tra i Navigli di Milano, in una ex area industriale, si apre questo terrazzo che comunica una sensazione di equilibrio, un luogo confortevole che non segue la moda, non sembra mai troppo ordinato, asettico o complicato.

Opening over the rooftops between the Navigli district of Milan, in a former industrial area, is this terrace that communicates a sense of balance in a comfortable location that does not follow fashion and is never too ordered, detached, or complicated.

Si sviluppa negli anni, dapprima, creando con le vasche di Rhyncospermum jasminoides Rosa rampicante var. "Pierre de
Ronsard" lungo la balaustra una quinta sempreverde in grado di attutire tutti i rumori della città , poi le alberature di Acer palmatum "viridis", Camellia reticulata, Olea europaea e Cupressus sempervirens, ed in ultimo il pergolato in ferro ricoperto da Wistaria chinensis (glicine) in quattro tonalità differenti di bianco dove a maggio creano delle meravigliose cascate di fiori che ricordano alcuni quadri impressionisti francesi. È un terrazzo a quattro stagioni , studiato affinché garantisca colore e differenti texture durante tutto l’arco dell’anno , così che nelle grigie ed uggiose giornate invernali si possa apprezzare all’interno della grande veranda il lento scorrere delle stagioni senza che vi sopraggiunga troppa malinconia. I materiali utilizzati sono differenti come il legno per le grandi vasche costruite su misura per accogliere gli apparati radicali della Glicine piuttosto esigenti , al cotto in differenti misure e forme per le altre piante. Il ferro è stato usato sia per gli arredi che per la struttura del pergolato, colorato in blu marine per dare un tocco “provenzale” e meno urbano al contesto.
Qualche macchia di colore, data dai cespugli di Calle e Tulbaghia violaceae sistemate nelle grandi ciotole, crea una deliziosa cornice per tutta la primavera, mentre le abbondanti fioriture stagionali sono garantite dagli Impathiens in estate e dalle Viole nel periodo invernale.

Developed over the years, the pots containing Rhynchospermum jasminoides and ‘Pierre de Ronsard’ climbing roses make their way along the balustrade and create an evergreen screen that dampens the noise of the city; this is followed by small tree varieties such as Acer palmatum ‘viridis’, Camellia reticulata, Olea europaea, and Cupressus sempervirens; lastly, there is an iron pergola covered in Wistaria chinensis in four different shades of white, which in May create stunning cascades of flowers that bring to mind the French impressionist paintings. This is a terrace for four seasons, designed to provide colour and texture all year round. On grey winter days you can admire inside the large veranda the slow passing of the seasons without too much gloom setting in. Different materials have been used, such as the wood for the large purpose-made pots built to cater for the wisteria’s rather demanding root system, or the terracotta in different shapes and sizes for the other plants. Iron has been used both for the furniture and for the structure of the pergola. It is navy blue in colour to give a more Provencal, less urban, touch to the setting. Some splashes of colour provided by the callas and Tulbaghia violaceae arranged in large bowls create a delightful setting throughout spring, whereas abundant seasonal blossoms are provided by the Impatiens in summer and the violets in winter.
